Hellooooo Bozeman and Physical Therapy Eliters!

Let me begin with a story:
There once was a young boy named Danny. He grew up in the South (avoided the accent) and loved to play soccer. His dream was to play soccer professionally. He worked hard through high school and made his way to a Division 1 university where he played four years of collegiate soccer. In spring of his freshman year of university he was injured and had to undergo several weeks of physical therapy. Here he was allured by the fun atmosphere, diversity of patients, and ultimately the promotion of health and wellbeing. Guided by his altruistic nature, he quickly changed his major to physical therapy. As graduation approached, his therapy future was paved with acceptance to physical therapy school and all was progressing as planned. But then, he was offered to continue his soccer career at the next level. Faced with a tough decision, he put his therapy future on hold to follow his heart and his childhood dream. Over the next year Danny trained hard, performed well, and had attracted some interest from a few professional teams.

Ultimately, he was not offered a professional contract…and like that, the dream was over.
With the close of his sporting career he returned to university and opened the account on his therapy career. While the curriculum was challenging and he seemed to enjoy his studies, Danny had lost something. With his beloved soccer now relegated to recreational adult leagues, he no longer had an outlet for his competitive energy. His athletic flame was flickering, stifled by a demanding school schedule and endless studying. Soon, Danny became discontent with his coursework and contemplated if he had chosen the right profession. As he struggled with this inner turmoil, a friend and former teammate suggested joining him in a local half marathon.

Intrigued by a new athletic challenge, Danny signed up for the race. As he trained, the mental fog began to lift. He began enjoying and engaging in his classes more intensely. As he ran the final 50 meters towards the finish line, the cheers of the crowd were drowned out by raging fire that was now burning within him.

Danny’s introduction to endurance sports was the catalyst which rekindled his passion and drive for life and especially physical therapy. Upon graduation from physical therapy school, Danny focused his efforts on learning all he could about endurance sports: training methods, running biomechanics, and the treatment of endurance sports athletes. Over the last 5 years, he has competed in various endurance events including marathons, cycling events, trail running, and ironman triathlons. Now, his fire burns brighter than ever as he works frequently with amateur and professional ultramarathon runners, cyclists, triathletes, and Olympians.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “how on Earth did he escape the South without an accent?” While I may be from the South, I have the mountains in my heart.
I believe in a patient-centered therapist driven approach to therapy. Unshackled from the constraints of insurance dictated care, I can focus completely on my patients and direct their care as I feel is appropriate. That means if a patient requires something that is not traditionally covered by insurance, I have the freedom to do what is needed to help them achieve their goals. This is what I found at Physical Therapy Elite, an uncompromising commitment to their patients.

I view therapy as much more than rehabbing an injury, but more as treating the whole person, each with unique backgrounds, history, stressors, and motivators. A partnership is formed, working together to not only recover from injury, but to promote sustainable health and wellbeing for the rest of your life.

I have many years of treating a variety of conditions and impairments: from post-surgical treatment to chronic pain, sports injuries to auto accidents, and mobility limitations to performance training. I am also a certified USA Triathlon coach, and specialize in triathlon related rehab, training, and performance.

If you are in pain and feel limited in any way, or you just want to move and perform better, come see me!

I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Physical Therapy Elite team this December! I look forward to joining the Bozeman community and together working towards a stronger, healthier, and happier world.
